If you've never tried homemade soap...you are missing out!

Here are some tips to prevent your homemade soap from dissolving in the shower or to deteriorate on the shelf.

  • Store soaps that are not in use in a covered container that allows air circulation, and in a cool, dry location. A shoe box will work well for this. I put holes in the boxes so the soap can breathe well.

  • If you prefer to store your soaps in plastic, be sure to add ventilation to the container to allow the soaps to breathe. I personally would not use plastic tubs. Handmade natural soaps are high in natural glycerin and vegetable oils; non-ventilated storage may result in a “weepy” soap bar.

  • Keep your stored soaps out of direct sunlight, as natural ingredient colors may fade. The sun can also warm the soap causing it to sweat if it gets to warm.

  • If storing several soaps, keep similar scents together. Over time bars that are stored together will take on other scents. They are usually fine once the are taken into the shower or bath and splashed with some water to get ot the scent underneath.

  • Use a soap dish with slots so the soap can dry between uses. This is pretty important. Remember that soap that sits in water will absorb that water and get mushy.

  • Why choose handmade organic soap?
It’s simple. The ingredients! Always remember that your skin will absorb what you put on it. We usually say: “If you wouldn’t eat it why put it on your skin?” Today most people have never used handmade soap before. In fact, most people have never used real soap before. Wait…what? If you take a look at cleansing products sold in stores, it’s likely you won’t find the term “soap” on the package. “Soap” sold in stores is often made with chemical detergents, hardeners and synthetic lathering agents, which means they actually do not meet the definition of soap by the regulations of most national health agencies. We could list plenty more reasons why you should choose for organic handmade soap instead of conventional soap. So if you yet haven’t tried handmade natural soap – what are you waiting for?
  • How organic is your soap?
Many people have sensitive skin that doesn't respond well to chemically laden soap. By using organic soap, you might be able to avoid, or at least reduce, the skin concerns that are caused by irritating chemical ingredients. Organic soap contains ingredients that are not, and have not been produced with, herbicides, chemical fertilizers, or pesticides. It's invaluable for those who suffer from chemical sensitivities. Even if you don't break out in a full body rash, the chemicals used to make conventional soap will most assuredly dry your skin. Non-organic soaps usually do not contain glycerin (a moisturizing agent). Unfortunately, many people wait until itchy, dry skin is a concern before making the switch to natural soap. We use only certified organic oils for the base recipe in all our soap. We make every bar with a minimum of 99.9% organic ingredients.
  • Why should I choose your soaps?
My handmade organic soap is actually Good for the Skin. The Natural ingredients in the soap preserves the integrity of the oils, fats and butters used while making the soap. This means that what is put into the soap during the soap-making process is what you get when you use it.
